Toyota crashed severely in Sebring – the car did not turn

The situation was preceded by a rumble with a lap overtake.

The WEC season of the World Championships in Endurance Competitions started with Sebring’s 1,000-mile race in the USA.

Fortunately, Lopez was okay and was able to get out of his car unharmed. The race was suspended for more than half an hour during the track repairs.

– I am sorry. This was completely my fault. I overestimated the pace in that situation. The bow of the car broke and when I tried to turn the car did not obey, Lopez took charge of the crash.

For Toyota, which dominated the WEC series in recent years, the race was ultimately disappointing. The second car lost the victory at the end of the race to an extra depot stop.

The competition also saw Finnish colors. Toni Vilander participated in the race as a member of the Ferrari factory team in the GTE Am class. Autokunta ranked seventh in its class.
