A storage of toys that the De Kloostertuin child center in Assen uses when playing outside during the break burned down last night. A fire broke out in the storage facility located between De Kloostertuin and De Parel primary school, in the Kloosterveen district.
The fire was reported around 2 a.m. When the fire brigade arrived at the school, the flames were already shooting meters high. This includes playground equipment, go-karts, tables and chairs.
Although the fire brigade arrived quickly, it turned out that the storage could no longer be saved. The police are investigating how the fire started.
