Corona cases are increasing on the Tour of Spain for professional cyclists.
Two-time stage winner Sam Bennett tested positive on Tuesday morning (08/30/2022), the German team Bora-hansgrohe announced on Twitter.
The Brit Ethan Hayter was also unable to compete in the time trial in Alicante on Tuesday, as his team Ineos had announced shortly before.
Already 14 positive cases since August 19th
On the rest day on Monday, the Dane Mathias Norsgaard from the Movistar team tested positive. Since the start of the Vuelta on August 19, a total of 14 drivers have been eliminated due to positive corona findings.
The German professional cyclist Nikias Arndt was also unable to compete in the eighth stage last Saturday after a positive corona test.
