The route of the nineteenth stage of the Tour de France Albertville – the Plagne, the last Alpine Tappone scheduled for Friday 25 July changes. The discovery, inside a breeding located right along the way, of a outbreak of beef contagious dermatitis, led to the demolition of animals. For respect for the delicate situation of the breeders concerned and in order to preserve the serenity and safety of the race, it was decided, in accordance with the authorities, to modify the path of the stage and not to climb the Col des Saisies.

The departure will be given as expected at the Albertville exit, but at 2.30 pm, an hour late compared to the original program. After 7 km of transfer, the runners will take the direction of the D925 where the actual departure will be given. The race will therefore reunite with the initial route just before Beaufort (52.4 km of the initial track). Due to this change, which will particularly involve the absence of the Col des Saisies, the stage of the stage will be 95 km instead of the 130 expected.
