FC St. Pauli again dropped points in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the away game at SpVgg Greuther Fürth, Hamburg did not get more than 0-0, as they did against Fortuna Düsseldorf last week, but are still unbeaten with five points after three games.
Fürth remains a difficult place for Pauli. In the last six games, the “Kiezkicker” have only scored two points at SpVgg, and St. Pauli’s last win at the Ronhof sports park was well over six years ago.
Fürth and St. Pauli offer little entertainment in the first half
With an outside temperature of over 30 degrees, the spectators were offered little entertainment in the first half. Both teams didn’t give up much defensively, with Fürth’s striker Tim Lemperle (18th minute) having the best chance. However, his shot from the edge of the box went just wide of the target.
After the break, the guests increasingly took control of the game. While Fürth hardly set any offensive accents, coach Fabian Hürzeler’s team still found it difficult to create dangerous situations despite obvious efforts.
