Midfielder Lucas Tousart (26) is currently the talk of the town. Because of his move from second division Hertha to Champions League participant Union. A number of Hertha supporters blame the French for signing their rivals. Now Tousart got into full training and had a tough start in Köpenick.
On his first real day at work, he injured himself on the right side of his mouth during non-public training on Thursday. It is said that a teammate’s stud accidentally got lost in his face. Tousart wore a white patch in Friday’s public practice session.
The good news: Like all Union players, he was applauded by around 150 fans. After the training, the ex-Hertha player continued his friendly greeting. When Tousart gave his first autographs as a Unioner, many of the fans threw him a “Welcome”.
On Saturday (3 p.m.) Tousart could make his first appearance in the Union jersey against Kiel in the An der Alten Försterei stadium.
It will be an XXL test over four times 30 minutes. The game against the second division team will also take place in front of a five-figure crowd. Union had already sold almost 1000 tickets by Friday afternoon.
On Wednesday against Rapid Vienna, 17,284 spectators saw the first home appearance of the season.
