Richarlison leaves Everton FC after four years and joins league rivals Tottenham Hotspur. On Friday morning, both clubs confirmed the transfer of the 25-year-old Brazilian, who signed a contract until 2027.
According to consistent media reports, which Transfermarkt.co.uk can confirm, the offensive player costs a base fee of £50m, the equivalent of around €58m. Bonuses can increase the amount by a further £10m to just under €70m. Only three transfers worldwide were more expensive this summer.
Adeyemi, Vieira, Mané & Co.: The most expensive summer transfers in 2022
Ryan Gravenberch | Ajax Amsterdam -> Bayern Munich | Transfer fee: €18.5 million
Market value: €60 million (plus possible bonuses: €20 million)
For the Premier League fourth-placed last season, the base fee is the second-highest amount ever paid for a newcomer. Only Tanguy Ndombélé, who came from Olympique Lyon for €60m in 2019, was more expensive. Part of the bonuses alone can make Richarlison the leader (to the statistics).
Richarlison made 152 appearances for Everton, who signed the 36-cap international from Watford in 2018 for almost €40m, scoring 53 goals and providing 14 assists. In the history of the “Toffees” only Romelu Lukaku (2017 for 84.7 million euros to Manchester United) was more expensive when he left (for statistics).
