With the NFL scouting combine, the top talents for the NFL draft can position themselves these days. However, while some players voluntarily oblige the workout, Top-Prospect Abdul Carter must fit unintentionally.
The Edge Rusher cannot take part in the physical tests of the combine this week due to a shoulder injury. Like his agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, told “ESPN”, Carter suffered the injury in the quarter -finals of College Football Playoffs.
“However, we expect Abdul to get fit again in good time to be part of the Pro Day of the Penn State and to perform on a very high level,” Rosenhaus told Adam Schefter from “ESPN”.
Despite his injury, Carter will take part in the medical examination during the combine and is also ready for interviews with the teams.
Meanwhile, Rosenhaus has already acted with foresight and sent a letter to the NFL teams that Dr. Dan Cooper was put on, who is a doctor at the Dallas Cowboys and also examined Carter. Cooper has therefore released Abdul Carter for training from a medical point of view.
NFL: Several prospects are missing
It is anything but an isolated case that Carter is not included in the on-Field drills. Above all, offensive players often do without an appearance at the combine and prefer to show themselves at the Pro Day with the well -known teammates. In the previous year, for example, the top 3 of the draft, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye, did not take part in the workout.
This year, among other things, Shedeur Sanders and Ashton Jeanty, Running Back of Boise State are missing.
Sanders in particular is just as much a top prospect on many Draft boards as Abdul Carter. Carter is seen as a top pass rusher in the draft at least once and can be found on the Big Boards of the “ESPN” analysts Mel Kiper (2nd place) and Matt Miller (1st place).
