The beaches and dikes are packed full. With temperatures up to 25 degrees and a soft sea breeze, it is fully enjoyment. “We immediately put the flowers outside,” says a visitor enthusiastically. “She was looking forward to it. The first beach day of the year is a fact.”
Anyone who works on the coast is also satisfied. “It is a busy May 1, but that is what the hospitality industry needs,” says Jean-Claude Lovenwent of Brasserie Rubens. “With such temperatures it already feels like summer.”
Beach bars and terraces were overcrowded, and there were many people of second residents. “On vacation less is looked at the budget. We feel that too,” adds Frederik Torresan.
The beautiful weather brings a summer feeling to the coast exceptionally early.
