Too many mistakes – DSV athletes make mistakes in Ruhpolding

The persecution was not successful for the Germans. Justus Strelow is the furthest ahead – but someone else is having a dark day.

Biathlete Justus Strelow narrowly missed out on a podium finish at the end of the home World Cup in Ruhpolding. In the pursuit on Sunday, the 27-year-old took fifth place after a shooting error. In the end, only 14.7 seconds were missing from winner Johannes Dale-Skjevdal, who led a Norwegian triple success.

The other Germans were disappointing in the Chiemgau Arena; they made too many mistakes, especially at the shooting range. Philipp Horn was 15th (3 shooting errors/+59.7 seconds), Philipp Nawrath followed right behind (4/+1:00.9 minutes). Johannes Kühn took 25th place (5/+1:47.1), former world champion Benedikt Doll was only 28th (5/+1:54.2).

The biathletes now have a few days’ break before they continue with the individual 15-kilometer race in Antholz on Thursday (2.20 p.m./ARD and Eurosport). The World Cup in Italy is the last stop before the World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic (February 7th to 18th).
