Joep de Wildt from Oudenbosch won the Keiebijters Chatting Tournament in Helmond on Saturday evening. Twelve top talkers competed against each other for the Silver Narrenhood. Joep had the most laughs with his character Tony H..
There were twelve chatters in the preliminary rounds, four of whom ultimately went to the finals. Joep de Wildt, Hans Keeris, Dirk Kouwenberg and Jasper van Gerwen all showed their best side during the Keiebijters Chat Tournament.
Breaking into André van Duin’s house
On Saturday evening, Joep will be in the barrel as criminal Tony H. Tights around his head and fake tattoos on his arms. “I broke into André van Duin’s house this week especially for you to steal a few good jokes,” he says quickly.
Breaking into André van Duin’s house turns out not to be that easy. “I open that door. Is there a horse in the hallway,” he says, as the audience bursts into laughter. “It was at the wrong house. It was in the home of neighbor Jansen.”
In the prizes
It is not the first time that Joep has been able to put the Silver Jester’s Hood on his mantelpiece. He once started with the local tone talk evenings as a chatter in Den Bosch. For years he watched the Keiebijters Chat Tournament on television. He participated for the first time in 2019 and won the prestigious prize a year later.
That not only earned him the fool’s cap, but even a message from Mark Rutte, who was Prime Minister at the time. And this year too, Joep knows how to get laughs. The Silver Narrenkap can take home and the audience award also goes to Joep this year.
