One of 8 with ending contract
Toni Kroos wants it “Marca” said to play another season at Real Madrid. As the sports newspaper reported on Sunday, the 33-year-old is said to have informed the club’s management, who had already wanted a contract extension with the central midfielder. “Everyone satisfied,” wrote “Marca”. Later also reported “sports1” about it.
Kroos is one of eight professionals with the “Royal” with a contract ending in the summer, with a market value of 18 million euros he is the third most valuable from this squad. In addition to the world champion of 2014, the working paper of his neighbor in midfield (37) is also running out.
With Kroos and Modric: End of contract at Real Madrid in 2023 & 2024
A year ago, Kroos had rejected the offer of an extension until June 30, 2024. He first wanted to see how he would cope physically and mentally with the strain. Any doubts should be cleared. The end of his career will therefore be postponed by at least a year.
Kroos won the Champions League four times with Real, most recently last year. Before moving to the Madrilenians, for whom he has been playing since 2014 and would therefore complete a decade if he worked together again, he had won the pot with FC Bayern Munich. Real is currently in the quarter-finals, in the second leg next Tuesday Kroos can play again, assured coach Carlo Ancelotti. In the first leg in the 2-0 win against Chelsea, Kroos was one of the outstanding players. Kroos has played 405 games to date, surpassed only by Karim Benzema (639) and Modric (477) of those who are still active in the “Royal”.
