The sale of Pierre to the Bianconeri, also given the performance of Emerson Royal, was not well digested by the Rossoneri people. Who now fears a reply with Fikayo
Seeing Emerson Royal play on the right wing, one of the most recurring catchphrases that can be heard in the San Siro stands is the following: “But we had Kalulu… And we gave him to Juve!”. The Rossoneri fans were never happy with the transfer of “Pierino” to the Bianconeri, above all because in that position (true that the Rossoneri management saw him almost exclusively as a central defender, a role already covered by Gabbia, Thiaw, Tomori and Pavlovic) the gaps were appeared evident in this first half of the season. Now the nightmare of an encore is recurring with Fikayo.

Yes, because Juve is on the hunt for a central defender after the serious injury that prematurely ended Bremer’s ’24-25 campaign and has put the Englishman in their sights, currently at the bottom of the Devil’s bench. In fact, Tomori last appeared on the pitch as a starter in the league on 6 October in the 2-1 defeat at Fiorentina. Since then only 11′ minutes in the championship (9 in Cagliari and 2′ in Verona). In the Champions League, however, he was in Fonseca’s starting eleven in all of the first five matches, except for being on the bench in the last home match against Red Star.

By now the queen pair in the middle of the Rossoneri area seems to be the one formed by Gabbia and Thiaw, who in fact seems to have given stability to a department that was too unstable previously. After the 3 in Cagliari, Milan conceded only two goals in the following 5 matches, both in Bergamo against Atalanta, who boast the best attack in the championship (42 goals, equal to Inter who however played a match in less, the one to be recovered against Fiorentina). In the other four Maignan kept the Rossoneri goal clean.

Seeing Kalulu’s excellent performance at Thiago Motta’s court and thinking about the enormous amount of commitments that await Fonseca’s team between now and the next break for the national teams, which will only arrive after the home match with Como on March 16th (net of advance payments), the Devil’s fans would be very happy to hold on to one of the great protagonists of the 2022 scudetto, also avoiding strengthening a direct rival for the race for Europe. Also because we know – as seen recently – that injuries are always around the corner. Before the break, Milan will be busy on four fronts, the championship (where they have to climb from eighth place), the Champions League (with the last two matches in Girona, at home, and Dinamo Zagreb, away, chasing 6 points which could mean direct round of 16), Super Cup (semi-final with Juve on 3 January in Riyadh and in case of final victory on the 6th) and Italian Cup (5 or 26 February with Roma in the quarterfinals). And Tomori, the real one, fit and in top condition, would certainly be very useful.
