Tom Tailor strengthens management team

The Hamburg-based clothing retailer Tom Tailor is strengthening its management team with four new positions, some of them from within its own ranks or from Marc O’Polo, Peek & Cloppenburg Vienna and Tchibo.

Paul Pörtner, the current Director of Retail Management at Peek & Cloppenburg Austria, will become General Manager Direct to Consumer as of December 1st. In this function, he will develop new business ideas and concepts that will lead Tom Tailor into the future as an omnichannel retailer.

A month later, on January 1, 2023, Behija Karup will start as the new Chief People Officer and will be responsible for almost 3,000 employees worldwide. She is to strategically and operationally shape the cultural change of the company. Kaprup is currently Head of Human Resources at Marc O’Polo International and was previously with Peek & Cloppenburg Vienna for nine years.

Also effective January 1, 2023, Vanessa Alina Spiegel will join the company as Head of Logistics and will be responsible for all logistics activities. She is currently Head of Strategic Buying and previously worked for two years as head of logistics for Heinemann Asia Pacific in Singapore and before that for three years as performance manager for supply chain processes at Gebr. Heinemann SE & Co. KG in Hamburg.

David Meyer becomes General Manager Wholesale

David Meyer, who is currently responsible for German wholesale at Tom Tailor, will be promoted to General Manager Wholesale. Meyer joined the company a year ago and built strong connections internally and with partners. Before Tom Tailor, he held similar positions at Bestseller, PVH, Diesel and Puma. “His expanded role will ensure even closer cooperation with our foreign sales units,” confirms Lenz.
