The controversial faith healer Tom de Wal mobilized about a hundred people in Eindhoven during a flyer campaign on the 18 Septemberplein. Protest groups demonstrated against his arrival because of his statements about the ‘cure’ of homosexuality and autism. De Wal was arrested a day earlier in Tilburg for holding a healing service on the street without a permit.

The Public Prosecution Service is demanding eight years in prison against a 26-year-old Frenchman who was caught with a large number of weapons on the A16 near Prinsenbeek. His trunk contained twenty hand grenades, assault rifles and ammunition that he wanted to smuggle to Belgium. The court will make its ruling on January 23.
