Racing to work and then exercising, shopping and cooking. And then, if possible, you also have to go to a polling station in Zoetermeer on Wednesday, October 29. Thanks to software makers Viktor Renkema and Marciano Planque (both 32), you can find voting locations on your route.

The Ballot box guide can be found online and works much the same as any other route planner. You enter your departure location and destination, after which your route appears. The big difference with Google Maps or Waze: you see polling stations near your final destination.

Maybe you are planning to vote at the town hall for the House of Representatives elections, but you see other voting locations in the Ballot Box Guide that are more interesting, or simply closer. Handy! All you have to do is bring your voting card and a valid ID. Most polling stations are open until 9 p.m.
Churches, museums and mills
Viktor and Marciano describe themselves as ‘two nerds who like to work on social web applications’. Together they developed the Stembuswijzer. “It’s a little boost for everyone who was planning to vote, and the nicest way to subtly motivate friends. Just forward it and no one has to say anymore: it just wasn’t convenient,” say the makers.
The idea arose when they noticed that many people do not know exactly where they can vote. “Or that they always go to the same polling station. It’s a shame, because there are such special locations such as churches, museums and even mills,” says Marciano.
