The 24-year-old Emiel was found seriously injured on 16 April a flat on the Osdorper Ban in Amsterdam. He got into a coma because of the fall and succumbed to his injuries. According to the OM, he saw no other way out and jumped because he was held on the fourth floor in the house by suspect Jermandino.
‘Frustrating and indigestible’
Despite the vain request from the relatives to the court to oblige the suspect to be present, the suspect was not there today.
Singer Stien den Hollander, as the singer is really called, was there with her mother. She did not want to answer any questions. “It is very intense for them to be here,” says the lawyer of the relatives. “That the suspect is not there now is very frustrating and indigestible.”
The suspect, the 24-year-old S. from Hoorn, is suspected of manslaughter (with others) and kidnapping resulting in death. Because the session was not dealt with in terms of content, little else is known about the case.
“The investigation is still in full swing,” explains press judge Anne de Leeuw. “We do not exclude more arrests. We are still busy identifying possible witnesses or suspects.”
Argument about drugs
Why the victim may have jumped off the roof is also not yet clear. In an earlier Facebook message from the mother of S10, she wrote that a drug fight is the cause.
According to the message, her son was in the cocaine trade and he was threatened: “Emiel has not been telling me for 12 years, but since a year. Why? I think he was in real danger and thought I should know.”
During the first public session, the lawyers of the relatives criticized the way of communicating the Public Prosecution Service and the court. For example, they were not known when the hearing would be.
“It goes wrong every time, we have to hear everything from the media. That is very frustrating for the relatives, they feel that they are on the sidelines and are not included in the process.”
On November 17 there is another interim session. Most likely the suspect stays in custody for longer. A 30-year-old man is also stuck for involvement in the death of Emiel den Hollander. He still has to prevent.
