Title lost in a few weeks: Flamengo separates from Pereira

Only 100 days in office

Flamengo from Rio de Janeiro have parted ways with coach Vitor Pereira after just a few months. The former coach of TSV 1860 Munich only took over the post with the winner of the Copa Libertadores on January 1st. 100 days and 20 games later, Flamengo announced the immediate separation from the 54-year-old Portuguese and his coaching staff via social media.

Pereira had lost several titles with the team in just a few weeks. Last Sunday he and his team lost the final of the state championships in Rio very clearly with 1:4 against Fluminense. Pereira was only able to win half of the 20 games with his team, two ended in a draw and eight were lost.
