Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo missed the final of the Champions League in Asia with Al-Nassr and has to continue waiting for his first big title in the desert.
Against Kawasaki Frontale from Japan, the 40-year-old Portuguese with his club from Saudi Arabia lost 2: 3 (1: 1).
“Sometimes the dream has to wait,” wrote Ronaldo after the game at X: “I am proud of this team and everything we gave on the field.”
Former Bayern star Sadio Mané scored the meantime 1: 1 (28th), Ronaldo missed the lead a short time later with a header on the latte (34th). In central defense at Al-Nassr, the ex-Leipzig Mohamed Simakan was also in the starting XI.
