It was Wilma Murron the second competition after the European Championship won in Munich and could earn him a place in the Diamond League final.

– Two weeks ago, I would have been satisfied if I had been third in the Diamond League with over 460. Now it was left to dig a bit, Murto commented in SUL’s press release.

Murto exceeded 435 in his first, 450 went in the second and 460 again in the first, but the crossing of 470 was not successful. The competition was won by Slovenia, who crossed 470 Tina Šutej.

– The race was jumped into the swirling wind. Wilma’s jumps were quite reasonable. The little one’s tiredness was visible in the fact that the timings in the movement of the hands were a little late. The run, on the other hand, went well, Murro’s coach Jarno Koivunen said.

– I’m wondering if the lateness of the timings was due to being physically and mentally tired after all the rumba of the European Championships, Murto said.

– I have told myself in these competitions after the European Championships that you shouldn’t expect too much. It always goes towards the next bar.

Murto will next compete in the Sweden match, which will be contested on the 3rd-4th. September in Helsinki.

Etelätalo Viides

EC bronze medalist in javelin Lassi Etelätalo finished fifth in Lausanne with a result of 80.17, which was born on the third throw. The competition was won by the Indian Olympic champion Neeraj Choprawho threw 89.08 on his first.

– The body was still tired. It had to be woken up a lot. I got it to wake up a bit in the last laps. If the body felt good on Sunday, now it felt like its own, Etelätalo elaborated, referring to the EC final.

The last of Etelätalo’s throws was the longest, but barely overstepped. Toni Keränen was seventh in the javelin final with a score of 77.18.

– The body didn’t wake up at all. The first rounds were practice throws. When I started to tighten the screw, it started to tighten in places. That was such a basic result for me. The mind wanted to throw further, but the body disagreed and the throws looked like that, Keränen said in the press release.

The seventh hill

Three-legged EC silver winner a week ago with the new SE 14.64 Kristiina Mäkelä was now seventh in the competition with a result of 13.99.

The multiple prize winner from Venezuela jumped to first place Yulimar Rojas with a hard result of 15.31.
