Tips for a stress-free holiday from Eindhoven Airport

Summer vacation! Many people from Brabant will fly from Eindhoven Airport to the sun in the coming weeks. Last year it was still very busy at the airport, but few problems are expected this year. Still in need of good preparation? With these tips you prevent last-minute flight stress in Eindhoven.

Eindhoven Airport says it will do everything it can to prevent crowds at the airport this summer. The airport expects few problems and has considerably more security personnel ready for the summer holidays compared to last year. That should save you a lot of hassle.

Reserve a time slot
Nevertheless, you can make it much easier for yourself at the airport this summer holiday, with a simple action. Because for the first time, travelers can reserve a free time slot for the security check.

The airport also wants to avoid long queues like last summer. Due to staff shortages, travelers arrived very early at the airport last year, up to four hours in advance. The queues were therefore unnecessarily long.

Partly thanks to the new time slot, early departure is now unnecessary. The time slot only applies to passing through security, the place where your luggage is checked. And please note: your time slot is ‘on paper’ fifteen minutes long, but the ten minutes before and after your chosen time slot are also valid.

Such a slot is actually 35 minutes. So don’t be late, but don’t be too early either. Otherwise your time slot will expire and you will have to connect at the back.

Parking nearby? Be on time!
Parking at Eindhoven Airport is generally quite fast, but it is also expensive. Of course, that does not apply if you let yourself be dropped off. In the so-called Kiss & Ride lane you can be dropped off at a one-minute walk from the terminal.

It doesn’t get faster, except with bus transport of course. Eindhoven Airport can be reached from Eindhoven Central Station with bus 400 and shuttle bus 401.

If you are assigned to your own transport, you can park in parking spaces at the airport itself. See are all within walking distance. But the big problem? All those parking spaces are already reserved in the short term – expensive or cheap.

So be on time if you want to park near the airport. Until July 24, for example, there is no parking space anywhere at the moment. And not unimportant: it is quite expensive. Even P5, the official parking space furthest away from the airport, costs more than eighty euros for one week of parking.

Shuttle to the airport
Those who want to park at the airport in the short term will therefore have to move to the unofficial parking spaces. You are therefore dependent on parking spaces of parties other than Eindhoven Airpot itself, which are without exception further from the airport and travelers often take shuttle buses to and from the airport.

After some searching, it appears that there will be enough such parking spaces available in the area in the short term. But those parking spaces also quickly cost around 70 euros for a week of parking at the moment.

Further preparation
And then there are the obvious tips:

  • Be sure to check in online if you can.
  • Adhere to the strict rules for liquids in hand luggage.
  • Eindhoven Airport itself also has one handy list with tips to fly stress-free this summer.
