Not just any festival
Tunes, dances, drinks: at first glance Zoetermeer Live! an event like many others. What makes this evening so special? Organizer Ruud Rienties says: “We are bringing something innovative and unique to Zoetermeer. Get out and about, all worries aside. We do not have a DJ on stage, but a live band that accompanies all artists throughout the evening, including Jeroen van der Boom, OG3NE and Berget Lewis. If you are a fan of live music, then you have to be here.” But there is another reason that makes this event special. Ruud is celebrating his fiftieth year of life. “I invite everyone across the country to come on my birthday!”

Since Ruud suffers from myotonic dystrophy, a muscle disease for which there is no medication or treatment, the idea arose to give the events he organizes extra value. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Princess Beatrix Muscle Fund. “I cannot find or make the medicine, but this way I can contribute to the research in my own way.” By getting a ticket, you not only provide yourself with a phenomenal evening, you also give something back to others: € 5 per ticket goes to the Princess Beatrix Spierfonds.
