Tina Nijkamp is fully established as a regular table guest in Today Inside, so she can also give her opinion about newcomers at the table. What does she think of Willie Wartaal? “A bit of a shame.”
This week, on the recommendation of Wilfred Genee, a new table guest was introduced in Today Inside, namely rapper Willie Wartaal, one of the coaches in the brave revival of The Voice of Holland. A day later Wilfred asks Genee in the show: “Willie Wartaal: just for the analysis here at the table, how did you think of him? He was okay, right?”
‘Turn off the TV!’
Johan Derksen sounds quite positive. “I had a great time with Willie Wartaal. I think he is a very friendly boy with a good appearance and humor. I don’t see anything wrong with it, but I had John de Bever on the phone this morning and he turned off the TV.”
Wilfred: “Yes, that is a good sign. Then he has done really well, I personally think. Yes, no, this says it all. Then he is through in that respect. You, Tina?”
Disarming
TV authority Tina Nijkamp is less enthusiastic. “Well, I find him very disarming because of his smile. I also like him the most on The Voice in terms of coaches, but what I didn’t really like about him is that he will say: ‘Yes, I never watch TV’, and: ‘I don’t watch this program.’ I never really like that.”
Wilfred: “No, that’s not allowed?”
Tina: “No, because I don’t like that towards the viewer. They actually enjoy watching this.”
Context
If you are not a VI viewer, you do not know what storylines are going on at the table, Tina explains. “You often can’t give a lot of context, for things that pass by, like: ‘I don’t know that, I don’t know that.’ I thought that was a shame.”
Wilfred: “Okay, so that’s just a reprimand.”
Tina: “Well, because then you can contribute very little, because you always say: ‘I don’t know, I never see it, I never see it.’ I thought that was a shame, but otherwise I really liked him.”
