The Bob Dylan biopic doesn’t premiere in this country until February 27th, but in the UK the work can be seen earlier. Reason enough to roll out the red carpet for the “A Complete Unknown” team in London on Tuesday, January 14th. While the ensemble walked one by one through the storm of flashbulbs, they chose the main actors Timothée Chalamet a different start for his red carpet moment – he drove up on a bright green e-bike and caused a stir.
Riding a Lime bike to the red carpet
There are recordings of Chalamet’s unconventional premiere start. What can be seen: The 29-year-old rides up to the photographers, shakily, gets off and struggles a bit with the bike stand before he pulls out his cell phone – possibly in an attempt to declare his ride over via the app.
The question now is: Did the mime choose the show effect as a PR campaign for the e-bike provider Lime? After all, the bike’s brand was clearly visible at all times and the moment with the cell phone could also indicate this.
On the other hand, the New York-born actor could also have meant his electric performance as a homage to Bob Dylan. He was known, especially in the early days of his career, for riding his motorcycle everywhere. Okay, an e-bike is not a motorcycle, but maybe Chalamet’s more climate-friendly, modern version of it?

Ultimately, Chalamet himself did not reveal his thoughts on the carpet appearance to the public, leaving the conclusions to the Internet.
Press tour with surprises
During the press tour for “A Complete Unknown,” Chalamet has repeatedly come up with new ways to pay tribute to Bob Dylan. Among other things, he appeared at the premiere of the 140-minute film in New York City in an outfit that was intended to be a nod to Dylan’s look at the 2003 Sundance Music Festival. He was wearing a flannel shirt, black jeans and a black leather jacket over it. The mime even swapped his usual dark brown curls for blonde, smooth forehead fringes. Good to see here:
Chalamet = fan
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the French-American actor opened up about his fan love for Bob Dylan, but admitted that he didn’t know much about the musician before agreeing to play on Dylan’s work. But now he is passionate about it. “I had a lot of time to practice because we wanted to make the film five and a half years ago, then Covid happened and then the actors’ strike, so I had years to prepare,” Chalamet said.
