Timo Meier moves to the New Jersey Devils in a 9-player trade

The New Jersey Devils and San Jose Sharks traded players.

Sharks goal stick Timo Meierthe attacker Timur Ibragimovdefenders Scott Harrington and Santeri Hatakka and the goalkeeper Zachary Emond move to the Devils.

In addition, the Devils will receive a fifth-round draft pick for the summer of 2024 from San Jose.

The Swedish attackers are heading in the other direction Fabian Zetterlund and Andreas Johnson and Russian packages Nikita Okhotyuk and By Shakir Muhmadulli.

The California club also received a conditional first-round pick for next summer, a conditional second-round pick for summer 2024, and a seventh-round pick for summer 2024.

The most significant player in the deal is star forward Meier, 26, whose contract expires this season. The Swiss has scored 31+21=52 in 57 games this season. Meier is therefore on pace for the season with 44 goals and 73 points.

San Jose will keep half of Meier’s $6 million cap hit salary.

There were other trades in the NHL over the weekend.

Boston and Colorado started shopping when the goalkeeper Keith Kinkaid moved to Kallivuori in exchange for center to Shane Bowers.

Rangers acquired of William Lockwood and a 7th round pick from Vancouver. You traveled in the other direction Vitaly Kravtsov.

Yevgeny Dadonov moved from Montreal to Dallas with Montreal keeping half of the man’s $5 million cap hit salary. Denis Gurianov went the other way.

The weekend in Nashville was also colorful. The club made no less than three deals.
