Timo Jouhki has made a significant career in Finnish rally driving. Now he has only one protector.
- Timo Jouhki is currently taking care of only Kalle Rovanperä.
- Jouhki will no longer take new drivers in care. “Now it’s the turn of others.”
- For new rally managers, Jouhki is happy to give instructions.
Rallyman Timo Jouhki is in a situation that he had last long, long time ago.
Only one driver is handled.
– Yes, it has been time, Jouhki admits.
The experienced rally manager has to be silent to think for a longer period of time when the situation was.
-Let’s go to the 1980s. At the time when I only had Juha KankkunenJouhki remembers.
Since then, the “godfather of the Finnish rally” has had customers on the market.
Suninen’s situation challenging
At its best, at the beginning of the millennium, the “Jouhk stable” included as many as four Finnish drivers touring the World Series. And the promising juniors are still on. Jarno Jew
Jouhkin and Teemu Suninen The cooperation ended at the end of last year.
– Our cooperation is over in the agreement, Jouhki points out.
– Of course we are still talking and trying to help him in some things. We are in order. But we no longer have a contract.
Suninen belonged to the “Jouhk stable” for ten years. During that time, Tuusula rose all the way to the main series, but the breakthrough at the very sharpest top was eventually missed.
Suninen himself comments to Iltalehti his future as a rally driver is uncertain. Jouhki shares the same annoying view.
– Teemu’s situation seems quite difficult. If something is found, it would be on the Rally2 side. It is a different matter if you can get a professional agreement that is paid for, says Jouhki.
Suninen once ended up in the Jouhk team as if in a half -injury.
– when Mikko Hirvonen Once upon a time, I started to help Teemu. Originally, I was not meant to become his manager but merely help, but things changed.
“There is enough work with Kale”

Now Jouhk’s only protective is Kalle Rovanperä.
He wins in the quality of the horse in the quantity.
– There’s just enough work with Kale. There is everything that is not just about driving, Jouhki says.
From his actual work, Jouhki describes himself as an investment banker. A business professional has always been able to take a business into account for his drivers.
– I help Kope, for example, in his asset management matters, says Jouhki.
The 24-year-old rally star is a sought-after name and advertising face for the company as a company. However, cooperation agreements Jouhki has always outsourced another. For Rovanperä, these things will negotiate Miro Rousku.
– My role is to take a stand and give opinions on agreements, but I do not answer the negotiations.
Rautio is a friend
In recent years, Markku Rautio has become an important supporter of Finnish drivers. Jouhki advises and guides his friend. Eloonedia
January Tuukka Kauppinen drove himself to the public’s consciousness.
However, wouldn’t the horse still be interested in one young Finn to the top of the species?
– My retirement age has been exceeded ten years ago. Now it’s the turn of others, Jouhki, 74, laughs.
– Besides, he is in the Rautio team, Jouhki recalls.
Markku Rautio has become a supporter of Finnish drivers over the last couple of years. Jouhki and Rautio are friends, and the more experienced rally manager does not refuse to advise and guide their recent colleague.
– Mark’s intention is to get as far as possible with Tuuka and other supporters. I would say the drivers are in good hands with him, Jouhki praises.
What after Jouhk?

Rautio is just a couple of years younger than horse. While Finnish rally fans are thinking about the future for drivers, it is a good idea to ask this front.
Is Timo Jouhk’s work a successor in his own family?
– At least my offspring do not do this. They are not in the same way as me. The rally took me with him since childhood. Hannu Mikkola Made me excited and fall in love with the sport, Jouhki says.
Jouhk’s expertise in the sport is diverse. Before becoming a rally manager, he himself drove quite a race.
Jouhk’s first protective was Kankkunen. Laukaa’s great son grew one of the biggest legends of the sport, so Jouhki immediately smelled talent.
-In a way, I got luck when I got Juha to Toyota in the 1980s. Sure, he was a talent for nature. After that, the foot was between the door and the work was easier in a way.
Three points
The rally is a dear form of sports for Finns. How to safeguard the future? Thomas Lindberg
Where would the Finns get new timo jokes?? And what is required of the rally manager?
– Networks, strong will and genuine interest in the sport, Jouhki says firmly.
– There is a huge amount of know -how in this job. I have noticed that rallying is a lot of the same elements as my actual work, investor and investment banner describes.
Pesti is not really easy. On the basis of the zero, the start of the zero has to clear their way to the top of the food chain. This applies to both the driver and his manager.
Jouhk’s work as a rally manager has made it a lot easier for one thing. He has found his own financial resources to invest in the drivers he supported in a tight spot.
– In a way, I have been easier, I admit it.
Jouhki promises to help willing new rally managers will, but he doesn’t go to teach things.
“There have been no new and enthusiastic entrepreneurs until the queue,” he says.
