Tim Hofman was slammed all evening yesterday by the stars of John de Mol. The presenter comes with revelations about the media billionaire and they are angry about that. “He’s gone crazy!”

Seven months after Tim Hofman’s revelations about abuse at The Voice of Holland, he comes today with a sequel. This would mainly be about what exactly John de Mol knew about the abuse. John himself claimed to Tim in January that he was aware of only one incident of misconduct at the time.

John is stunned

It concerns one of the misconduct of band leader Jeroen Rietbergen, the ex of Linda de Mol. John showed him “all corners of the room” when he found out about one of his misbehaviors on The Voice, but did give him a second chance. John swore to Tim that that was the only incident he knew of. Apparently Tim is now questioning that.

Tim has invited John for a second interview, but the media billionaire made an extensive statement yesterday in which he refused. Although Tim himself has not yet revealed anything about his new BOOS broadcast, John states that he is accused of having known more about the abuse. “We are stunned.”

Stars support him

In an ostentatious attempt to discredit Tim, he was slated by John’s stars all night long yesterday, on John’s station. From Shownieuws Summer Edition in the eve to Today Inside on prime time and Shownieuws on the late evening: they all agreed on SBS 6 that Tim is overplaying his hand.

Without seeing a second of his new BOOS report, John’s stars shout out to each other that Tim has to keep his waffle. John’s puppets Bram Moszkowicz and Johan Derksen in front. “That boy has to stop, huh? He went mad with joy when he uncovered something there”, Johan shouts.

Randy

Show news expert Bart Ettekoven believes that Tim has shared far too little information with John. Colleague Bram Moszkowicz replied: “Exactly, so then you would have an edge… Then you wouldn’t be very smart if you were to cooperate. Of course he doesn’t have to.”

It sits Bram very high. He could swallow the word ‘random idiot’ just in time. “I’ve also heard people say today that the hand is a bit overplayed by the program. Look, that first part: beautifully done (…), but now there are people who think: now it is being milked a bit, maybe the hand is being overplayed.”

Repetition of moves

Evert Sankrediets also thinks that Tim is going to make a huge mistake. “It is nothing more than a repetition of moves. The person I spoke to says there are no new cases coming to light now. That is what many viewers will count on.”

Gosh, they are all united on John channel. Ronald Molendijk: “At the moment there are a number of people in the Netherlands sitting behind a virtual typewriter and typing: ‘Shownieuws, the mouthpiece of John de Mol, defends John de Mol from all sides.’ But we also just sit here as people without being only connected to Talpa.”

‘Just join us!’

It’s really a coincidence that they all have exactly the same opinion. Outside of John’s playground, they are a lot more critical. Jordi Versteegden and Wilson Boldewijn of De Telegraaf think that John should simply join Tim. “If you have nothing to hide, why not sit down there?” Wilson said.

And Rob Goossens of RTL Boulevard thinks it is indeed relevant if Tim can demonstrate that John has had more prior knowledge than he claims. “If indeed there have been people (John, ed.) who did know and kept quiet for whatever reason, that is of course quite bad.”
