Will Till Lindemann create a number one album in Germany with “Zunge”? With his band Rammstein, top positions were never a problem for the 60-year-old; most recently, the two most recent albums “Zeit” and “Rammstein” reached the top positions of the local charts.
Last Friday (November 3rd, 2023), the Berlin Neue-Deutsche-Härte singer released his new solo work “Zunge” and is sure to be a success – however, his label Universal Music previously announced his albums as well as those by Rammstein no longer want to distribute or advertise. That could thwart his plans.
“Zunge” is not available as a sound recording on common online sales platforms such as Amazon or JPC. Even on the world’s largest (re-)sale platform Discogs, you will search in vain for a CD or LP by the scandalous rocker, whose current single, the title track of the album, has been met with rejection and even disgust in many places.
Lindemann’s solo tour begins tomorrow, Wednesday (November 7th, 2023), in the sold-out Quarterback Arena in Leipzig. He writes on Instagram: “The album ‘Zunge’ is NOW available on all streaming platforms. The CD will be available on tour from November 10th and will be released via online shops on November 17th. The vinyl will be released on December 1st.” There is also a link that leads to the Rammstein shop. Accordingly, Lindemann distributes the disc on its own. Including also in a deluxe edition, with vinyl: 2LP gatefold, 180g, 16-page booklet and printed sleeves.
