ABN AMRO thinks that Groepie is useful for, for example, a holiday with friends, a night out or a bachelor party. The payment app is already often used for that kind of business, the bank notes from the descriptions that users enter when they make a payment request.
But ABN AMRO also sees value in the function for long-term expenses, such as shopping in a student house. “We expect that Groepie will be widely used,” says Rogier Brinker of Tikkie. “There is no need to switch between different apps or cost accounting tools. Settlement is very easy with a Tikkie.”
Tikkie’s popularity is still increasing. Recently, the number of 8 million active users was reached. In total, payments amounting to 16 billion euros have been made with Tikkie.
