They are among the most important pioneers of the global beats scene: Äl Jawala. With their gypsy saxophone bigbeat, the band brings all clubs and festivals in Europe to the boil. It doesn’t matter whether the next tour is to Freiburg, across the Atlantic or to the Black Sea, to China or France – Äl Jawala convince with their passionate stage energy and are a guarantee for soaked T-shirts and an uninhibited dancing audience. Founded in 2000, Äl Jawala were among the first to combine club and hip hop beats with wild, oriental horns. After the band drew attention to themselves on the street, they quickly went on stage. There they performed with the likes of Emir Kusturica and Shantel. On countless drums and two saxophones, she ignites the fire of a whole gypsy brass band. Äl Jawala dance rigorously across all genre boundaries and purity laws. And this stirring music has captivated critics and fans alike. In 2007, Äl Jawala won the jury prize and the audience prize at the German Creole Festival. The band is now known all over the world. True to their name, Al Jawala (Arabic for “the travelers”) traveled as far as China, Jordan and Canada. This band is simply a danceable culture shock that leaves nobody cold!
