Fenerbahce Beko beat Anadolu Efes 88-79 in the derby in the 5th week of the Basketball THY Europa League. Head coach Dimitris Itoudis congratulated his players for the victory.
Itoudis, who made a statement at the press conference held after the match played at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, stated that they did not start the match well and that they could not find easy numbers.
Stating that his opponents scored 27 points in the first quarter, Itoudis said, “We took the lead in the first half. We always stayed in the match in the first half. We used the outside shots well. We managed to win the rebounds. We played against the European champion. They have a great head coach. We are a one-month team. There are things but we are hopeful. I think we are on the right track.” he said.
When asked by a press member, Fenerbahce fans compared him to the football team coach Jorge Jesus in terms of leadership and whether he met with him, Itoudis said, “We are very happy with the success of all branches as an organization in Fenerbahce.
