Sartorialista in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid is not an ordinary fashion store, but a store with second-hand luxury men’s clothing. Francis is surprised when he sees the jackets and trousers hanging. “This still looks perfect. This isn’t second hand, is it?”

Owner Casper Doorenbosch explains: “Yes, it is indeed second-hand. Vintage suits. These are often Italian suits that have had a previous life and are being given a new life here. From gentlemen who have changed size or job. From enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.”

Eric Clapton

For example, there are suits in the luxury store that previously belonged to lawyers, architects and judges. “But I also have trousers here from none other than Eric Clapton. You can tell because his name is on the label.” As a music lover, Francis almost falls backwards. “From Eric Clapton? Act normal! How the hell did you get this?”

FeedTransport

At VoerVervoer in Amsterdam they use a completely different way of cycling. There food gets a second chance. According to initiator Charley Ranzijn, food that is thrown away by wholesalers is often still good. “About half are still good,” says Ranzijn as he selects the tomatoes that are still good.

Food waste

The hall is full of melons, pineapples, leeks, heads of lettuce and cucumbers. “We organize three-course menus for everyone who wants to join us and we give away food. We do this project for everyone who comes along. From anarchists who are against food waste to lonely local residents, and from students to local alcoholics: everything comes together here. This project brings people together.”
