Three more arrests after shooting and stabbing on industrial estate in Coevorden. Suspected shooter also arrested

The police arrested another three people on Saturday for involvement in the shooting and subsequent stabbing at the Oystercatcher in Coevorden. One of those arrested is said to be the suspected shooter.

This was announced by the Northern Netherlands police. An underage boy was arrested on Saturday morning for involvement in the shooting and stabbing incident. The three arrested men were transferred to the station on Saturday evening and are being interrogated.

DSI and explosives dog

On Saturday morning, suspects shot while they were on the site of a demolition and metal company at the Scholekster in Coevorden. One person was injured. Other people involved then attacked the people who had shot. One person was also injured.

The police and other first responders came to the crime scene in large numbers. Because two people were injured and not everyone involved had yet been arrested, the Special Interventions Service (DSI) and an explosives dog (aimed at finding weapons) were deployed.

At the beginning of September, the DSI also raided the same area where shooting and stabbing took place. That raid was related to the suspicion that underground cannabis plantations had been dug. Ultimately, nothing was found during that large-scale operation.
