Three killed in Israeli missile strikes in Syria | Abroad

Israeli rocket attacks near the Syrian capital Damascus have killed three people. Four were also injured, Syrian state agency Sana said this morning, citing military sources.

“The Israeli enemy carried out an attack that killed three martyrs and caused material damage,” the news agency reported. The rockets were fired from the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, it is said.

Earlier, the Syrian news agency had reported that the Israeli missiles were intercepted by the air defense.

Israel often carries out rocket attacks on Syrian territory. A similar attack had claimed the lives of five soldiers on May 14. Nine people were killed on April 27.

The Israeli attacks have always targeted positions of the Syrian army, Iranian forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah. Israel almost never comments on the military actions in the neighboring country. The country emphasizes that it does not accept any further expansion of Iranian influence in Syria.
