Three home burglaries in Gieten ‘while you’re just sleeping upstairs’

Residents at Kerspelstraat, Pallert and Noord-Es in Gieten were surprised by unpleasant visitors in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Burglars managed to break into three homes, the North Drenthe police reported on its Facebook page.

In one of the houses, one or more burglars took three laptops, a telephone and a debit card. The fact that the burglars left nothing to chance during their nighttime activities was evident from the fact that even children’s school bags were opened and searched. A car was also searched outside.

“It is a very bad idea that someone just comes into your house and messes things up while you are just sleeping upstairs. It probably happened in the early morning, because the stolen phone was at the bus station in Gieten around 06.30 am, that was too much. see through Find My iPhone† After that, money was withdrawn around 07.15 am with the stolen card at the station in Emmen,” said the resident of one of the homes where the burglary took place.

“The fact that the things are gone is annoying, but the feeling that you are apparently not safe in your own home from this scum is much worse,” said the resident.
