In Smilde the fire brigade was called out three times last evening and night for a fire.
A caravan and car burned out just after 8 p.m. These were located at the intersection of Molenwijk and Suermondsweg. When the fire brigade arrived, the vehicles could no longer be saved.
It is the fourth time in a short time that a caravan has caught fire at the intersection.
Later in the evening, around 11 p.m., the fire brigade responded again to Smilde. A trailer tent burned out at the intersection of Molenwijk and Eekhoutswijk. Dozens of young people were celebrating around the fire, a bystander reported.
Last night, stuff, including a large tire, went flying. This happened at the intersection of the Rijksweg (N371) and the Drostenstraat in Hoogersmilde. The fire brigade extinguished the fire.
