The Central Netherlands court sentenced 39-year-old Bob ter H. on Tuesday to a prison sentence of ten months, of which three months were conditional, for threatening singer Douwe Bob and complicity in drug possession. Ter H. was convicted of threats in the past.

The threats were a response to Douwe Bob’s decision to cancel his performance at the Jewish football tournament Jom Ha Voetbal in Amsterdam last June. The singer saw “Zionist posters and pamphlets” and did not want to play “because he is against Zionism.”

Bob ter H., leader of ‘Amsterdam Defense Force’ (ADF), according to it A.D a conservative graffiti group with roots in the Ajax supporter scene, threatened to visit Douwe Bob at home. “Half the cancer of Amsterdam wants your head on a paving stone,” shouted Ter H. He added the address and photos of Douwe Bob’s garden to the message.

“Due to the threats, the suspect caused feelings of fear and insecurity among the victim and his family,” the judge said. Douwe Bob fled abroad with his family on his own initiative.

Fifteen hundred erection tablets

Ter H. was arrested in July last year, after which a house search followed. The police found 845 grams of amphetamine, 378 grams of MDMA, 79 grams of cocaine, fifteen hundred tablets of an erection drug and 475 pieces of the tranquilizer diazepam. Ter H. defended that the drugs belonged to his “not shabby”, unknown tenant.

The court does consider Ter H. to be complicit, because he told the police that he knew that the use of the rented room was “not entirely kosher”. He also once sent the landlord by app: “Sitting and folding cock”, probably referring to folding drug envelopes.

According to the court, the threats can be attributed to Ter H. to a lesser extent. Experts diagnosed bipolar disorder and a personality disorder with narcissistic and borderline characteristics. Ter H. also struggles with an alcohol and cocaine problem. He must be treated for these problems, the judge ruled. He is also not allowed to make contact with Douwe Bob.

Accusation Yesilgöz

Opinion maker Wierd Duk spoke last summer on X as a shame about Douwe Bob’s decision to stop the performance. VVD leader Dilan Yesilgöz then accused the singer of “hatred of Jews.” Then the death threats poured in to Douwe Bob. Yom Ha Football and some Jewish organizations participating in the tournament were also intimidated.

Douwe Bob initially considered suing Yesilgöz for libel and slander, but ultimately decided against it. He asked the VVD leader by email to qualify her tweet or delete it, because he said he was in acute danger. Yesilgöz refused and implicitly linked the singer to anti-Semitism again in a new tweet. The politician apologized to Douwe Bob after more than a month.
