Thousands of Christmas tree tops cut off in Wenum-Wiesel, grower: ‘They were not complete strangers’

Grower Gerrit Brinkman (57) from Wenum-Wiesel didn’t know what he saw when he walked through one of his fields yesterday. The tops of no fewer than 5,000 to 6,000 Christmas trees have been cut off and have therefore become unsaleable. “This is very bizarre and you just don’t make it up.” He offers a reward of 60,000 euros for the person who comes up with the golden tip that leads to the perpetrators.
