Thomas Tuchel is said to have verbally attacked players

Bayern are looking at two bankruptcies in a row. After the first defeat against Leverkusen, the coach apparently said harsh words in the dressing room.

Things aren’t going well at FC Bayern at the moment. The slap in Leverkusen was followed by the disappointing 0-1 defeat in the Champions League at Lazio Rome. On Sunday in Bochum (5.30 p.m., in the live ticker on t-online) there should finally be a sense of success again. But is that enough to get the faltering ship back on course?

If you look at a statement that Thomas Tuchel is said to have made after Munich’s defeat in Leverkusen, it can at least be doubted whether the team and coach still form the necessary symbiosis.

“You’re not as good as I thought”

If you believe Sky presenter Riccardo Basile’s statements, Tuchel is said to have attacked his players harshly after the devastating 3-0 loss at Bayer. “You’re not as good as I thought, so I’ll just have to adapt to your level,” Tuchel is said to have said to his players, according to Basile. The moderator refers to “an information” that was said to have been given to him.

Tuchel himself has not yet been confronted with the statement and its truthfulness. However, if it turns out to be true, the already circulating rumors about a tense relationship between the team and coach will continue.

Bayern President Herbert Hainer held the players responsible after the defeat in Rome. “I spoke to the players after the game at the banquet and on the return flight and the aim is clearly to get back on the road to success as quickly as possible,” said Hainer.

Coach Tuchel, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to be worried about his job (yet). When asked a similar question at the press conference after the game in Rome, he replied with a curt “no”.
