Thomas Dekker makes his appearance in the Netherlands without a tooth, but is that actually the biggest problem? “No, that’s those dungarees. Not to mention those nails!”
With the somewhat mature NPO 1 talk show, you have to do your best to not fall asleep and then of course such a compulsory cycling topic never helps. Yet the viewers also had to struggle through it yesterday who was invited as a commentator? Thomas Dekker. Without underdone.
Without a tooth
Presenter Welmoed Sijtsma carefully introduces it. “Thomas, we start with you, because you had hardly been here. We’re going to talk about a spectacular mountain that was central to the Tour de France today, but just mention the attentive viewer: you were lost your tooth. You actually didn’t want to come.”
He didn’t really want to go on TV without a tooth, says Thomas. “Yes, that looks a bit poor. You start talking a bit like that and then my girlfriend said:” It’s downstairs and I think it’s not that bad at all, “and then I thought, yes, dear.”
Sam teases
Co-host Sam Hagens teases him with that. “Well … hahaha.”
Thomas: “You are sorry?”
Sam: “No, it is not too bad.”
Thomas: “It happened today. With cycling. It remains a dangerous sport.”
Brushes
TV critic Victor Vlam also watched. What does he think? “Thomas Dekker was considering not coming to the Netherlands for a broken tooth. But I think his dungarees are a bigger problem. And I will just remain silent about those lacquered nails,” he sniffs on X.
If someone asks ‘where this boy things went wrong’, Victor replies: “I wonder that too. He was pretty handsome in the past.”
