Gordon’s lucrative SBS 6 contract expires in just over five months, but in the meantime he still behaves like big spender. “This year alone, 300,000 euros towards his travels!”
It is inevitable that Gordon is currently the celebrity with the largest ecological footprint. He is more often on the plane than on the couch and there is a large article about this in the latest edition of Privately. The headline of the piece? ‘Singer on world tour, but without performing.’ Very apt, of course.
300,000 euros
De Privé explains in detail where Gordon has traveled this year and in which luxury he immerses himself. “He travels the world like megastars like Madonna and Harry Styles do: first class and relentlessly. Big difference: Gordon does not perform anywhere,” writes editor-in-chief Evert Santegoeds.
Insiders estimate the cost of Gordon’s wanderlust at at least $300,000 this year alone. “For example, someone who had dinner with him in Dubai just before his departure to Bali said: ‘The bill for our dinner with about eight people alone amounted to 600 euros in bottled water!’
Worrying
Evert really wonders what exactly Gordon is running from, he adds in his podcast Strictly Private. “Gordon’s current condition is nothing but worry. His TV career ended rather ingloriously last Saturday with poor viewing figures for that inventor program, after which he left for Bali.”
Soon Gordon will travel to Shanghai, Evert knows. “Gordon just travels, is restless. I don’t know how this is going to turn out, but I don’t have a good feeling that Gordon is completely sane at the moment.”
Big spender
The big question is: can Gordon sustain this lifestyle? After December 1, he will no longer receive a salary slip from Talpa and it does not look like RTL wants to pull out the wallet.
Evert wonders deeply: “It is a world star traveling without performances. He covers more miles than Beyoncé, but it only costs money!”
