“On a large mushroom, red with white dots…” You guessed it, this article is about mushrooms. In fact, it’s about counting mushrooms. A task that will make you zen and you might even spot a (garden) gnome!

The mushroom count will take place from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 October. The great thing about this task is that you don’t have to go onto the paths or avenues, because the counting area is your own garden. You can choose whether you take the front or back garden or both.

That’s how it works

You count once, for as long as you want. Mushrooms like moisture, so search mainly in damp corners in dry weather. If the mushrooms are very close together or in bundles, count them all individually. If there are really a lot of them, you can also provide an estimate.

You enter the number of mushrooms counted this website Through. Are you also curious about the name of the mushroom(s) in your garden? Then check this card. Before you know it, you will know more about mushrooms than gnome Spillebeen!
