This was Tina Turner’s last concert (setlist + video)

Tina Turner had already performed 89 concerts in 46 cities and played to over a million fans when she performed at the Sheffield Arena in the UK on May 5th 2009. The 90th gig of what was then her ninth tour as a solo musician (which made more than $130 million in sales) marked her last official performance in front of a large audience after 50 years on stage.

The tour started in October 2008 in Missouri because Tina Turner got her first taste of stage air there as Anna Mae Bullock in 1958 at the Club Imperial with Ike Turner & The Kings Of Rhythm. The beginning of an incomparable career, which the singer reviewed on her last tour with numerous hits.

Turner didn’t come up with any special features for her last big show, and no special guests came to support her. It was just supposed to be a normal Tina evening, with a set list that her fans were used to. The singer started with “Steamy Windows” and closed with the Ike Tina classic “Nutbish City Limits” and “Be Tender With Me Baby”.

The gig was a catch-up date. Halt was actually supposed to be played in March in the English city, but Tina Turner’s flu illness prevented it. As a farewell in Sheffield, hundreds held up ‘Thank You’ signs during the concert.
