Car manufacturer Tesla does not make smartphones, even though Soma’s spam accounts can claim otherwise.
Tesla is developing electric cars and robots, but despite the somehow, you should not expect your own smartphones. Matthias Balk
Many social media users may have encountered pictures and claims that the electric car manufacturer Tesla would have published or just publishing their own smartphone. However, the allegations and pictures are a sheer paller.
Similar claims have been made for years. Today, many artificial intelligence bots publishing and creative images that create credible artificial intelligence tools just make such claims very easy.
Several publications may have pictures of smartphones showing the Tesla logo. Very often, there are different claims about technologies that make a variety of publications and, for example, the StarLink satellite connection.

However, it is not advisable to take the claims, as the car manufacturer Tesla has not developed or currently developing his or her own smartphone model. Director Elon Musk, of course To do things, to say, to say, That you might have an order for your phone.
Particularly the debate took the rounds late 2022, when the Somme platform Twitter, later X, had moved to Musk and Musk fans were concerned that Apple or Google might finally kick Twitter out of their app stores.
Musk commented on the topic of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast published in November 2024. He stated that Tesla, at least for the time being, has no desire to develop his own smartphone. However, Musk visions that developing your own phone could become topical if Apple and Google became some kind of gatekeeper and “censor applications”.
This image was created by Google’s artificial intelligence in seconds. The exact eye may find that the small texts on the back cover are not readable, but with sudden glance, the image looks credible.
Musk also mentioned that Tesla has a lot of experience in Linux software development, as its car systems are Linux-based. He thought Tesla would have a better start to developing his own smartphone operating system than any other company.
Difficult market to be conquered
However, it is good to keep in mind that the smartphone market is extremely competitive and, for example, a Microsoft software giant did not succeed in staying in the market -dominated market in Apple and Google.
In a modern smartphone, the application offer is extremely important, but an extensive user base would be needed to attract application developers. This is an egg or chicken type problem that requires a wide user base to attract application developers, but to attract users, a wide range of application supply would be needed. It would be very difficult for any new player to challenge Google Android and Apple iOS.
One chance for Tesla would be to have so -called White Label phones, that is, third-party phones, which would then be sold under the Tesla brand. However, this would, in practice, mean an Android-based phone with no major technical specialties.
Tesla and Tesla
However, there are already phones that carry the Tesla brand on the market. However, they have nothing to do with a Musk -led electric car company. Since 2014, Serbian Cottrade Distribution has been manufacturing home appliances and consumer electronics under the Tesla brand. The brand does not refer to an electric car manufacturer, but to a Serbian-American inventor and physicist born in the 19th century, Nikola Tesla. Under that Tesla brand, one smartphone and one basic phone are sold.
