This picture is a hoax – Chest hair reveals

The image that went viral is the work of artificial intelligence, although a very convincing one when viewed quickly. A closer examination, however, reveals quite a few illogicalities.

The picture of a man smoking while eating a hamburger at McDonald’s in the 1980s is not a real photograph, but a work generated by artificial intelligence.

The original publication on the X service on Tuesday has already been seen by more than 22 million people. It has been liked tens of thousands of times and there are thousands of reissues.

The user GrandaddyJeff, who shared the photo, suggests that the photo of the man he calls the “champion” is from 1989. Since then, a community notice has been added to the photo, stating that it is not a real photo.

Since the image is quite harmless – unlike in some other cases – its authenticity will not necessarily be questioned as sensitively. The picture in itself does not give reason to doubt its authenticity, because smoking in restaurants was quite common in the 1980s.

These signs are revealing

An image depicting a person can often be recognized as the work of artificial intelligence by looking at the hands, their position and, for example, the number of fingers. Although there seems to be the usual number of fingers this time, the man’s left hand in particular is unnaturally long. Also, the fingers seem to start directly from the arm.

The man’s chest hair is also visible under the open denim vest, despite the fact that he also has a t-shirt under his vest.

More unnaturalness is revealed from the soda mug on the table. Although the artificial intelligence has clearly tried to imitate the Coca-Cola logo, the end result does not make any sense.

Even the French are less likely to eat with a whistle. In addition, the deformities of the hat-headed man seen in the background are typical in images generated by artificial intelligence.
