This is where Max Eberl’s move to RB Leipzig comes in

The hanging game around Max Eberl continues: The change of the former sports director from Borussia Mönchengladbach to RB Leipzig is apparently still stuck in several places – not just the agreement between the clubs.

RB Leipzig wants Max Eberl, Max Eberl basically wants to go to RB Leipzig. According to “kicker”, however, some details are still unclear between the two parties.

Accordingly, the cup winner would like to install the 48-year-old as the new main person responsible for sport as soon as possible.

Eberl could imagine a longer break after leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach due to exhaustion.

What post will Max Eberl get at RB Leipzig?

RB Managing Director Oliver Mintzlaff had already denied a previously rumored entry by the ex-professional on December 1st.

According to the report, it is also unclear which exact position and which powers Eberl should receive in Leipzig.

The post of sports director has been vacant since Markus Krösche left for Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.

Most recently, Mintzlaff also took over many of Krösche’s fields of work. Eberl should relieve the club boss more.

Ten million euros for Gladbach?

The biggest hurdle on his way to Leipzig is still the contract in Gladbach, which runs until 2026. The talks with RB were “unproductive”, the five-time champion recently told the “Rheinische Post”. There is “no agreement” on a contract termination. According to reports, Borussia is hoping for a transfer fee in the double-digit million range for Eberl.

Despite the ongoing stalemate, there is actually no doubt that Eberl will ultimately end up at RB Leipzig and sign a long-term contract there.

Eberl “proved in Gladbach what an excellent manager he is and could take Leipzig to a new level again,” wrote former Borussia professional Stefan Effenberg in his “t-online” column. He is certain that Eberl will “return to the Bundesliga stage in the foreseeable future”.
