The summer holidays start on Thursday in a week’s time – and with them the holiday season for families with school children. While many want to fly away again after the long Corona break, others prefer to stay here due to the increased prices.
One thing is clear: Everyone is in a great mood to travel! According to the German Travel Association (DRV), holiday bookings in a weekly comparison since February have almost consistently been higher than before 2019.

In addition to the North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts, many families rely on flight packages to Spain, Greece and Turkey.

“The most popular holiday destination from BER is Mallorca,” said a spokesman for Berlin Airport.

In the summer holidays, the capital airport expects up to 75,000 passengers a day: more than in the Corona summers of 2020 and 2021, but still fewer than before the pandemic.
