This is what your TV evening at Omroep Brabant will look like

New programs and old acquaintances. From Monday they will all be back in the new television programming of Omroep Brabant. For example, we followed a new fire brigade team for weeks and we go back in history with Brabant brands that no longer exist, but were once of great significance. Nostalgia at its best.

Who remembers KikkerOp? The lemonade in different flavors from a factory of the van Haperen brothers from Etten-Leur. In the 1970s, many people from Brabant had glasses with an imprint of this brand in their cupboards. Even better known is probably Hero Conserven, known for the jam of the same name. Did you know that those pots come from Breda?

In our series ‘Brabantse Merken’ we take a closer look at it and also the history of the defunct Bossche Tulip Computers, at the time the largest computer player on the Dutch market after IBM, is also discussed. We show unique images from the archive and talk to former employees. Also in the series: the Iduna Corset Industry, known for its bras and corsets, Buijs, known for its chocolate kisses, supermarket chain Edah, DAF and beer brewery De Drie Hoefijzers, known for Oranjeboom, among others. Every Tuesday evening on Omroep Brabant.

Forest fires
The weather extremes are increasing in the Netherlands. As a result, we are increasingly confronted with extreme drought and more nature reserves are being burned than in previous decades. The fire brigade has trained a special team for this, which has been in action since April: the Handcrew.

They fight day and night to stop the wildfires and reach places where firefighting vehicles cannot reach. Without putting out the fire they work with axes, rakes and other special instruments. We follow the South Netherlands Handcrew during training and the fires they fight.

You can see ‘Bosbrand in Brabant’ every Thursday evening on your Brabant channel for four weeks.

Take care of Doy
A documentary series that you should definitely see is ‘Care for Doy’. Eighty-year-old Doy Kemp has lived all his life in a monumental farm on the outskirts of Oirschot. It is the farm where he was born and where he would like to stay until death. However, the need for informal care is growing.

Doy’s second cousin Toon and his partner Janne would like to come and live on the farm and keep the monumental building. They want to convert the old barn next to the house into a care home for Doy and take care of him when he can no longer do it himself.

We follow them for eight weeks on their journey through the authorities. So watch Omroep Brabant on Thursday evening.

Old acquaintances
Of course you can also watch our oldies, such as ‘t Brabants Buske, the nicest program on Saturday evening. Brabant News, Brabant Today and Bureau Brabant are also programmed. In the investigation program, the police asks for your help in solving crimes.
