This is what it will be like next weekend, spoiler: it’s not very good

Don’t put away the raincoat or umbrella just yet: it’s going to be awful weather this weekend. NH weatherman Jan Visser predicts a lot of rain.

Yesterday, storm Ciarán raged across the province. Last night a lot of rain fell in the aftermath of that storm, according to the weatherman as much as 30 millimeters in some places. In Noordoostbeemster this was even 39 millimeters. Code yellow was supposed to apply until 6 p.m. tonight due to the heavy rainfall, but this has now been adjusted to 12 p.m.

At this time, most showers are moving towards Flevoland, but new showers will appear at the end of the morning. These are accompanied by strong winds: wind gusts of 70 kilometers per hour can still occur on the coast.

Weekend full of rain

The weekend starts fairly dry tomorrow, but that won’t last long. In the afternoon there will be a lot of rain again over the province. Sunday will be no different. The temperatures are then around 11 and 12 degrees. Inland there is moderate to fairly strong wind, on the coast there is strong wind with gusts between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour.

Not much will change next week. Then again, depression is just around the corner. According to Visser, the raincoat does not have to be put away for a long time, because the weather models show no change in the long term.
