This is the cumbia “What are you looking at, bobo?” sung by Lionel Messi

A week after the Argentine National Team has been crowned World Champion, references to the best moments of the Albiceleste players in the Qatar 2022 World Cup continue. For example, cumbia, “What are you looking at, fool?” based on the already iconic phrase pronounced by the captain of the National Team, Lionel Messi.

The phrase was pronounced by Messi once the meeting with Netherlands. While the journalist from TyC Sports, Gastón Edulhe was interviewing “La pulga”, did the captain’s eyes suddenly fix on someone outside the shot that the camera was taking: it was the 19th of the rival team, Wout Weghorst.

“What are you looking at, fool? What are you looking at? Go, go there…”, Messi confronted Weghorst, who, according to what he later declared, was just going to say hello. Later, Gastón Edul explained that Weghorst, after “fend off the Argentines in the penalty shootout”, he asked Messi for the shirt. “When he asks for the shirt, he got mad,” the journalist explained.

After Messi got angry, he went to give the note to Edul, but Werghorts had stared at him “with a bad face”, a gesture that motivated the anger of “La Pulga”. Despite the altercation, Werghost later stated that he “respects a lot” the Albiceleste captain. The phrase motivated hundreds of memes, stickers and jokes on social networks, and now also musical versions like this new cumbia.
